MUSINGS AT GRADE 2A
The new academic session began with an ice-breaker activity wherein the students shared their experience of summer vacations with great zeal and enthusiasm. They developed their social skills by revisiting the Transdisciplinary themes, Learner Profile attributes and collectively brainstorming and creating their class essential agreements. Provocation of the unit – “Homes” was done by watching a video on homeless people followed by a discussion on the basic needs of human beings wherein the students understood the difference between needs and wants. This concept was further strengthened by various activities like drawing a T-chart, discussion and understanding of the Central idea and posting questions on the wonder wall. The students strengthened their thinking and communication skills by sharing their thoughts on how and why homes can be different. The concept of homes was further strengthened by sharing the different types of homes and an inquiry was done into the difference in their locations and the construction materials used. In their English classes students strengthened their knowledge of nouns. They honed their thinking and social skills through a pair activity and made a list of nouns used in various sports. Students also gained knowledge on the concepts like phonograms and through various interesting activities. In the Math classes the students gained knowledge on 2D and 3D shapes. These concepts were shared via various interesting activities like interactive videos, games and craft activities. Assembly led by Grade 2A on news this week.
